Who are we?
Welcome to Murley Silver Band, a Championship section brass band based in Fivemiletown, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The band was established in 1924 rehearsing in the lodge building near to the Murley road outside Fivemiletown, from where its name originates. The 1960s saw the band develop its player base and since that time we have enjoyed entertaining audiences with our performances at concerts, contests, marching events, and various community and council engagements. The band rehearses at its band hall in Edfield Way, Fivemiletown.
We welcome new members to our organisation and can offer individual and small group tuition for new beginners through our ‘Bob Hall School of Music’ affectionately named after Past president Robert Hall who was responsible for teaching many new players from the 1960s through to 1990s.
We also have a junior band named Murley Concert Band which provides a stepping-stone learning opportunity for players with aspirations to join the senior band. The concert band meets on a Tuesday evening prior to the senior band rehearsal.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We hope you enjoy its contents and feel free to contact us if you’d like to join the band, support the band or book us for an engagement.
